Filterfuge
AKA Blood Filterfuge
The filterfuge is a form of medical centrifuge. It is a spinning drum with rings of filters with increasingly smaller holes. Blood arrives in the filterfuge directly from a vein in the body and is spun causing the components to separate by size. The contents of the bad layers that contain toxins, bacteria or viruses are then extracted. The red blood cell layer is oxygenated and returned to the body with all the other remaining components. Filterfuges can be used for dialysis or to almost completely remove bacteria or viruses from the blood, allowing the immune system time to fight an infection.
