Iron Wall

Iron Wall is a fascist organisation that grew like a cancer within HA’s own Intelligence organisation. It was brought down by a young Intelligence Officer in 2208 but Iron Wall evaded capture. It is believed they fled to, and got absorbed by, Fune Kaisha and hid out on the Kuiper Belt. Iron Wall's bent is anti-communism so they have declared open warfare on Red Blood and openly hate the Rock Breakers Union, which Red Blood is thought to have infiltrated.

Iron Wall cannot believe the fact that Fune Kaisha actually controls a lot of Red Blood and without care of either, uses either organisation if it sees an opportunity. Fune Kaisha also can have them prune each other of members it deems as of negative value, such as those looking to expunge Fune Kaisha. The apparent random killings in the war are all planned pruning, where both Iron Wall and Red Blood also can be enraged by their losses and feel success in their killings.

Following the unspotted rise of Iron Wall within Intelligence, and the discovered coup d’état plans, the Constitutional Watchdogs were setup with Professor Smith asked to head Intelligence. Professor Smith declined believing the human race wasn’t ready for an EI to be in charge of Intelligence. Instead Professor Smith asked for the second highest role, which was duly awarded.

The Tootle Incident

Iron wall was a fascist Secret Police group who unlawful exceeded their remit by the detention and torcher of civilians, with the aim of furthering right wing political parties.

Jo Tootle was a student and a communist who claimed there was a fascist element to the police force and Intelligence services. As he claimed democracy should be suspend and that everyone should join his communist brotherhood to fight the fascists, he was largely ignored by everybody but the far left and the far right. He came to notoriety when his body was found dead, floating in the Bravos river having been beaten up. A good Intelligence agent, (also known as a Spook), told the US President there was high level involvement within Intelligence so the President gave overriding authority to a newly created Intelligence division called the Huston Committee.

The Huston Committee

The Huston Committee were specifically tasked with investigating the Jo Tootle case and so would be dissolved on its conclusion. They found witnesses to the case and officially identified an Intelligence branch known as Iron Wall. It was found to be supporting the rising fascist political group Oxidant Supreme. It was strongly felt by the committee that all within Iron Wall were at least complicit with the murder, although most the evidence was destroyed, and began concluding that justice would not be done. Before this conclusion was reached, the US President invented a very specific rule that stated that within Intelligence, all members of the department could be found collectively guilty. It was rapidly given the name the 'Presidents Precedent'. Iron Wall was found guilty of torcher among other things, in absentia, as none remained. People have dedicated their lives to tracking down these missing fascists.

Presidents Precedent

By US presidential decree, all members of a state intelligence organisation can be individually found guilty of collective institutional crimes, where evidence gathering may be impossible. It applies to the moment when made and so apart from the moment when made, it is spoken about in the past tense. The jurisdiction started on US soil but the view was made HA policy by a Supreme Court recognition on the applicability of guilt. It was invented for and currently only applies to Iron Wall.
