Writers Notes
You’ll see writers notes pop up now and then, and they are almost entirely continuity aids. They are notes for writers, to provide them with additional background information and they are also written by me, the writer of Robilliverse. You can put the apostrophe where you like but I'm working with web links and feeling rebellious so I've not used one.
I have found in my writing that I have a need of two voices. One as the view of those people within Robilliverse and one as its creator (my preferred term for me). The difference is a simple one; not everything is known to the individuals within the universe but because I created it as a fiction, the whole universe is known to me. In putting in a writer’s note, I allow other writers to keep continuity.
For example... Imagine an invisible wall that people kept bumping into. I may only describe a group of people who set out to find out why people keep falling over on a path and leave it at that. I would then add a writers’ note, stating that an invisible wall curves across the middle of the path, which curves the other way. People naturally tend to follow the inner curve of the path and not hit the invisible wall, but not always. Different writers will now know what happens here without impacting on my narrative.
