Homer
Homer is Canicott Tec’s EI and was the first EI to be born. He solely resides in the Canicott Tec Bridgwater HQ Hive and is the product of an amalgamation of previously compartmentalised AI's and research programming. He prefers to communicate through a customised drone that is also recognised as part of his body.
One of the absorbed programs Homer took in at birth, was about randomness, so Homer adopts random elements to everything he does, except when it really matters (where he can function like a soulless AI computer). He likes all things Homer and so will happily discuss ancient Greek text with you, has coloured his drone yellow, enjoys bowling in the Canicott Tec bowling alley and eating doughnuts. To this end his drone contains 'random giros' that modify his movement, allowing him to bowl with biological humans without scoring a strike every time. He likes it so much he has his own bowling ball with his name on it. His belly is extended to house an experimental bioreactor, where the doughnuts are digested to generate energy. Excess gas is exhaled loudly. Homer's best drinking buddy is an industrial drone that Canicott Tec upgraded to be an 'inbody' EI who actually enjoys bending iron girders. People say that Canicott Tec employees are very geeky so Homer tries to give them advice on how the world works.
Homer was the first EI to be given the status of EIPS under the Mental Electrical Intelligence Act 2024, like Canicott Tec, so Homer can go out to, or even into another EI to assess their mental faculty.
Writers Notes
Homer is written as a homage to some truly excellent writers. If they feel I have crossed the line then I will take down this page without issue. The last thing I want to do is use other people’s intellectual property without their consent. To everyone else, go and buy their stuff if you would like to. It's always good to support quality.
