Combat Specifications

The HAAS Russian class ship is the hardest in existence. It can take a pounding like no other and in a 1 for 1 missile impact comparison it would still be operational where even the HAAS NorAm Class would be crippled. Sol Tzu even modified ous Attack Rating formula following the design of this class of ship. It now is (attack * speed * amour) where the HAAS Russian ship is the only one to have an amour rating of 2.

War games shows that the Russian and NorAm ships complement each other very well, where the Russian can shield the NorAm ship. Despite the armour, in a simulated fight, the Russian ship was simply overwhelmed by the greater economy of fire and defeated every time by the NorAm ship, but it faired the best of any other challenger.

Sol Tzu’s ‘Art of War’ philosophical musings state that:
"If you think they’ll surrender, send North Americans. If you think they won’t, send the Russians."

Starler superstition has it that as long as a cat with more than 1 of 9 lives stays onboard, then one spare life will go to the ship. The Russians also lovingly give their ships the honourable nickname of missile boat, as it’s a similar shape to the old submarines. Its extra-strong nose and shallow profile makes it largely immune to the laser defences of the assault target.

The ship has 4 hard hulls, with the living quarters in the outer two. During an attack, these quarters should be empty, even though they are still protected by a very hard hull. Despite the cramped conditions, the crew of HAAS Russian class ships generally have excellent moral.
